West Linn-Wilsonville School District staff share art at public show
The latest Wilsonville Fred Meyer Starbucks Art Exhibit features teachers from all over the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. The art show features works of various mediums from classified and certified staff, totaling 14 members from six different schools.
All Starbucks works were originally displayed at the West Linn-Wilsonville District Art Show at Art Tech High School April 8, which featured hundreds of pieces from staff and students. Not included at the current Starbucks exhibit is Willamette Primary Head Engineer Colin Wall's six-foot tall graphite drawing of elephants or Trillium Creek Primary music teacher Kelly Myers' quilt.
Years ago the district held an annual faculty art show in conjunction with the district-wide student show called "Day of collaborative Inquiry," but the show died out over time. This year's Starbucks exhibit combined with the April 8 district-wide show was an effort to bring back the tradition and inject excitement to the colorful event.
