Boones students heads to regional spelling bee, with a shot at national competition

CCC offers spring break camps

Clackamas Community College is offering one-day science camps for primary school students during spring break at CCC's Environmental Learning Center. Camps for first- and second-graders are March 26, 27, 28 and cost $60 per day. The third-fifth grade camp is March 27 and costs $65. Before and after care and scholarships are available. 2019 Money Smart scholarship

Country Financial and Financial Beginnings Oregon are now accepting entries from Portland area high schoolers in the Money Smart essay contest for the chance to win a $3,000 scholarship. Applicants must write a 300-word essay on income volatility. First place earns a $3,000 scholarship and two runners up will receive $1,000 scholarships. Deadline for entries is March 22. Local student to compete in Spelling Bee

Boones Ferry Primary School fifth-grader Annika Martin will compete in Pamplin Media Group's Regional Spelling Bee March 9 at Hollywood Theater. Forty-three Portland area students are participating in Saturday's bee.
