Still time to register for Trail Blazers night, Grad party; art program receives donation, university students receive academic honors

Arts organization donates to WHS

The Charbonneau Arts Association donated $4,000 each to Wilsonville and Canby high schools during an awards ceremony Jan. 12, proceeds from its 2019 art festival held Nov. 1-3.

The Charbonneau Arts Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide an exhibit opportunity and financial support for these two student art programs.

At Wilsonville High School, between 400 and 480 students take art classes each semester, said teacher Christopher Shotola-Hardt. "We have designated a special account to help cover entry fees and tuitions for competitions and workshops for our students, opportunities for young artists outside the normal classroom routines and in-house exhibitions," he said.

Grad Party registration closes soon

Wilsonville High School seniors need to turn in their registration for the Grad Night Party by Jan. 31. Scholarships are available; see Lynda Tucker for details.

Trail Blazers night almost here

The West Linn-Wilsonville Education Foundation is excited to announce its sixth annual "Night With the Portland Trail Blazers."

It will be a fun evening with friends and family as the Blazers take on the Detroit Pistons at the Moda Center on Feb. 23.

As in years past, ticket holders will have the opportunity to participate in at least one experience. All ticket holders who purchase through the WL-WV Education Foundation link will have the opportunity to go onto the court after the game and shoot a free throw. This has been a very popular activity over the past five years.

Any tickets purchased for children between the ages of 6 and 13 will be entered into a drawing to participate in the pregame Courtside Kids experience.
