The elementary school's Parent Teacher Association hosted its annual Fun Run benefit and raised about $35,000, but they are still collecting pledges. The event is the association's biggest fundraiser and provides cash for student-focused activities and materials for the entire school.

Throughout the year, the association uses the money to provide Boeckman school with book fairs, updated playground equipment, books, scholarships, technology and educational assemblies.
