Charbonneau Country Club announced Monday that one of its residents died after contracting COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by the new coronavirus.

The homeowners association also announced that another member had contracted the disease. The deceased individual was admitted to Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin March 21 and died March 29.

The club, which closed public facilities such as the clubhouse and the tennis center last month, did not provide more information about the two individuals.

"The Charbonneau Board of Directors offers our sincere condolences to the family and friends of our resident who recently passed. We respectfully honor their privacy as they grieve," said board member Steve Switzer.
